I am Ted Ankrum, the Democratic Party candidate in TX-10. I have just started running an attack ad featuring the Iraq war and my opponents support for it on Fox Cable News in Austin, today, and in NW Houston (where TX-10 is) tomorrow. It will run through Nov 6. The ad previews on my web site and opens when you open the site. Turn on your audio and go HEREEarly voting started in Texas on Monday. If the past is a guide, 50% of the vote will have been cast when it ends on Nov 3. I have some results: In Travis County (Austin) Democratic Party Primary voters outnumber Republican Primary voters by 2:1 in TX-10. In the only one of the six rural counties in TX-10 for which I have data, there are a large number of voters with no voting history.
My poll of 500 likely voters done in mid-August was reprted on in Kos. Among other things, it reported that 65% of the responders were definitely going to vote for someone other than the Republican Incumbent, or would consider doing so. The horse race was 51% McCaul and 42% Ankrum, at that time. This was before a single sign, newspaper ad, TV spot or Foley. I have been saying that this is a sleeper race that can be won. Contribute HERE to allow me to run the ads with more frequency, and on more channels.
