Cut and Run--Bring it on!

So Karl Rove celebrated his "release" from the Plame investigation by declaring that Republicans will win the mid-term elections by telling everyone that Democrats want to "Cut and Run".  I'm the Democratic nominee for TX 10 and I say "Bring it on, Karl!"I'm just waiting for one of these chickenhawks to say that I want to cut and run.  It is almost amusing that the very people that ran from serving overseas when it was their turn to go, and are very happy to send everyone else's children to the current war; are trying to make this ridiculous charge stick.  Where are you, MSM, in this "fair and balanced" coverage?  I didn't cut and run when I was wounded in my second rotation in Vietnam, and I didn't cut and run when I volunteered for a third and a fourth rotation.  What I did do was learn that the people to whom "we are bringing democracy" will not stand up and fight while American troops are doing it for them!  My first three tours were with US fighting forces, and we watched the South Vietnamese Army run up and down the roads and sit in their bases, while we were doing the fighting.  In my fourth tour, I was an advisor and all US fighting forces had left the country.  The South Vietnamese Army was actually fighting and holding the North back, until Nixon stopped all air and logistics support.

The President says: "As they stand up, we'll stand down".  If he and his advisors had had any experience in these kind of things, they would know that he has the cart before the horse.  They won't stand up until we stand down!  That's why my plan is to send some of our troops to Afganistan to finish the job there, before we loose all control.  Put some of our troops in the large desert bases Saddam built to train the Iraqi security forces, and bring the rest home.  There is a place for advisors in the Iraqi units, but above all, we need to get our combat units out of the Iraqi villages and cities.  The only US combat units in the country should be those protecting our Diplomats in the Green Zone, protecting the training bases, and protecting the air bases where we provide air and logistics support.

So bring it on, Karl Rove.  I'll debate any of your chickenhawks about cut and run, because your bosses are the ones who cut and ran, not me.  I'm a second-tier challenger running against a first-term Delay protege, Mike McCaul, who just voted against net neutrality.  The DCCC isn't helping, and I need the netroots help.
